Toronto FC announced today that the club has loaned winger Jacob Shaffelburg to Nashville SC through 2022. Additional terms to the loan agreement will see TFC getting $225,000 in 2022 General Allocation Money (GAM), while Nashville will receive a 2022 international roster slot and the option to exercise a permanent transfer for Shaffelburg in 2023.
Shaffelburg, 22, has appeared in 13 games for TFC in 2022. Since signing with Toronto FC as Homegrown Player in 2019, Shaffelburg has made 61 appearances in all competitions (MLS regular season, MLS Cup Playoffs, Canadian Championship and Concacaf Champions League). On June 21, 2019, he became the 20th player in the club’s history to sign for the first team from the Toronto FC Academy.Â
