The buzz of national signing day made its way to the BMO Training Ground today as three TFC Academy players signed their National Letter of Intent.
Congratulations are in store for Rimi Olatunji, Gianluca Catalano, and Steffen Yeates who all officially declared their future intentions this afternoon.
Both Catalano and Yeates will be attending the University of Connecticut and will lace-them-up for the 3x time National Champion Huskies.
“Signing today means a lot to me,” said the midfielder Yeates, “It’s an important step in my development.”
“I am very excited to sign with UCONN today,” remarked goalkeeper Catalano,
Olatunji, also a 'keeper, will be headed to the northeast as well he has signed with the Providence College Friars.
“For me this is a huge milestone,” said Olatunji, “because this is something I’ve been working for since I was in the seventh grade.”
“Everyone here at this Academy has been a tremendous help to me,” said Catalano, the goalkeeper has spent five years with TFC.
Both Yeates and Olatunji repeated Catalano’s thanks to the coaches and staff for helping them get this point. They also each gave a special thanks to Sue McMillan, the Academy’s Manager of Education, for helping them navigate the process.
Last season the TFC Academy had 15 graduates competing across the NCAA and U Sports and congratulations again to these three for joining them.
