The Toronto FC Academy U17 team battled to a tough 1-0 loss against FC Dallas Youth in their second match of GA Cup qualifying.
The highly anticipated match saw the top two teams in the central region square off. The teams both came into the match undefeated.
Both teams traded chances early on. The Reds came close to opening the scoring in the first half. Kunle Dada-Luke took on two defenders and drew a penalty for the Reds. However, his attempt from the spot went just over the bar.
FC Dallas found the breakthrough late into the second half. The Toros recycled a ball back into the box and substitute Alex Fuentes got his foot on the ball and poked it in from six yards.
The Reds pushed for an equaliser in the final moments, but an incredible goal line clearance by Dallas kept the Reds scoreless.
The Reds will take Sunday off before closing out their GA Cup with a match against the host Houston Dynamo at 9 am on Monday.
