Toronto FC dropped a road result on Saturday night, falling 4-2 to Atlanta United at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

After a scoreless first half including a penalty stop from Quentin Westberg, Atlanta struck first in the opening minutes of the second half off a header from defender Juanjo Purata. Five minutes later, Ayo Akinola would persevere through multiple defenders to level the match.

Another Federico Bernardeschi penalty kick leveled the match once more after Purata found the back of the net for a second time, but the hosts poured on two more goals later in the half, including a third for Purata and a game-winning goal for Thiago Almada.
