Toronto FC II announced that the club has signed midfielder Nakye Greenidge-Duncan to a USL contract. He will join the roster pending league and federation approval.
“We are very excited to add Nakye to our group of young professionals. Nakye has the ability to succeed in our professional environment,” said Toronto FC II head coach Mike Munoz. “He is an exciting player with the ability to change a game with his speed and 1v1 attacking skills. We look forward to working with him to help realize his full potential.”
Greenidge-Duncan, 17, represented Toronto U-16 in the U.S. Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) competition in 2018 and 2019, making seven appearances and scoring five goals in total. In 2019, he was part of the U-16 team that won the 2019 Dallas Cup, an international youth soccer tournament in the United States. He joined the Toronto FC Academy in February 2015.
“Nakye has been an integral part of the TFC Academy for the past five years,” said TFC Academy Director Anthony Capotosto. “We’ve all enjoyed working with Nakye over the years and look forward to seeing his progression within the Club moving forward.
