Toronto FC II announced that the club has re-signed defender Robert Boskovic to a USL contract. In addition, Boskovic has been sent on loan to Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League.
Boskovic, 21, was on loan with Ottawa Fury FC, where he made 10 appearances during the 2019 USL Championship season. Before joining Ottawa Fury, Boskovic spent four seasons with Toronto FC II, where he made 55 appearances and scored one goal. He made his debut for Toronto FC II when he came on as a substitute against AS Roma Primavera on July 28, 2015 in a friendly match. In 2017, he represented Toronto FC III at the 69th Viareggio Cup, appearing in all three group stage matches. Boskovic joined the Toronto FC Academy in January 2015.
Boskovic played at Ryerson University, where he appeared in 27 matches and registered two goals and three assists over two seasons. During his rookie season, he was named an OUA East Division First Team All-Star, the OUA Rookie of the Year, a U Sports First Team All-Star and the winner of the Lou Bilek Award for the U Sports Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Year. Boskovic became the first Ryerson Ram to claim the Lou Bilek Award since its inception in 1999.
