Toronto FC II announced today that the club has re-signed defender Dante Campbell to a USL contract. He will be added to the roster pending league and approval federation.
“We are happy to welcome Dante back to the club in 2021. Dante is well established as one of our longest serving players and we are counting on his experience to help us achieve our goals this season,” said Toronto FC II head coach Mike Munoz. “Dante possesses a good set of tools, at a variety of positions, and we anticipate his versatility being a key factor for us this year.”
Campbell, 21, spent the 2020 season on loan with Valour FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL), where he made six appearances. Before joining the CPL team, he made 48 appearances with two goals and one assist in four seasons with Toronto FC II. He made his professional debut for Toronto FC II as a substitute on July 31, 2016, against Bethlehem Steel FC. He originally signed with TFC II on July 26, 2017, becoming the 27th player to sign from the Toronto FC Academy to a professional contract.
Internationally, he has represented Canada at the 2018 Concacaf Men's U-20 Championship and the Concacaf Men’s U-17 Championship in 2015.
