TFC II

Match Recap: Toronto FC II at Penn FC

Boskovic vs. Penn FC

The Young Reds played to a 0-0 draw against Penn FC to close out their 2018 USL season on Saturday night.

Jordan Perruzza made his first career USL start in the match. He did well to create some space down the left wing before sending in a cross for Malik Johnson, but it was cleared well by Penn FC.

Shortly after Perruzza had the Young Reds’ best look of the first half. Matt Srbely broke the Penn FC backline and played in Perruzza, who then danced around keeper Romuald Peiser before sliding his shot towards goal, but it was cleared off the line.

Caleb Patterson-Sewell was tested right out of the halftime break making a strong stop to his left to deny a Penn FC look.

Ayo Akinola was subbed in the 68th minute for Perruzza and made an instant impact. On his first touch of the game Akinola played in Terique Mohammed but his shot was pulled wide.

Tim Kubel played a perfect cross in for Akinola, but his volleyed effort was denied.

Substitute Shaan Hundal had a last-minute chance for a winner but he was stopped one on one by Peiser. Peiser then made an incredible stop on Srbely at the death.

Toronto FC II finish the season with a 4-24-6 record. Thank you for all your support this season. The Young Reds will be back in 2019 taking part in the inaugural season of USL League One.
