Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco has been named to the 2018 Major League Soccer All-Star Game presented by Target, MLS announced Friday. It is the fourth consecutive season in which Giovinco has been named an MLS All-Star. The MLS All-Stars will face Giovinco’s former club, the reigning Serie A and Coppa Italia winners, Juventus F.C. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The match will broadcast on TSN in Canada.
Giovinco, 31, has appeared in 20 matches, registering seven goals and 10 assists (MLS and the Concacaf Champions League) for TFC this season. He was awarded the 2018 Concacaf Champions League Golden Ball as the tournament’s most outstanding player. Giovinco also became the fastest player in MLS history to reach 100 combined goals and assists, with 58 goals and 42 assists in 95 matches.
Toronto FC’s all-time All-Star list, in addition to Giovinco, includes: Ronnie O’Brien (2007), Jimmy Brennan (2008), Dwayne De Rosario (2009, 2010), Jermain Defoe (2014), Jozy Altidore (2015, 2017), and Michael Bradley (2014, 2015, 2017).
