Montclair, New Jersey – The Young Reds fell at the hands of the New York Red Bulls II on Friday evening by a score of 1-0.
The home side controlled the run of play to begin the match as the Red Bulls effectively applied their trademarked high press.
‘Keeper Mark Pais kept the Red Bulls off the board with a save of the week (year?) candidate in the 23rd minute of the match. Vincent Bezecourt tried to catch Pais out of position with a long-range effort but the goalkeeper hurried back to parry the ball to safety.

Bezecourt did find a way past Pais shortly after as the midfielder streaked in on the counter and slotted home the ball past Pais for his sixth of the season.
Just before the half forward Aikim Andrews came off with an injury. He was replaced by forward Shaan Hundal who made his return to action following a long absence with an injury.
The Young Reds came out in the second half pressing for an equalizer. Head coach Jason Bent made a slight tactical switch bringing on forward Ricardo John in the 67th minute for midfielder Brian James. John made a quick impact going forward and earned a pair of corners for the Reds late into the half.
John would have the best opportunity for the Reds on the night in the 89th minute. John made a good move to get around a Red Bull defender and was in on goal. However, the forward was sent off balance and fired his shot over and out of play.
The loss moves TFC II to 0-4-1 all-time against NYRB II. A short turn around now sees the Young Reds travel to Rochester to take on the Rhinos on Wednesday night. Kickoff is set for 7:05 PM and as always you can catch all the action right here on TFC2.ca
