Toronto – Toronto FC III came away with a clinical 7-0 victory over Aurora FC on Sunday afternoon.
Matthew Srbely opened the scoring for the Reds just 17 minutes into the match. Srbely slotted home a well-placed ball for his second of the season.
Aurora was reduced to 10 men after Justin Broome took down a Red as the last defender.
The floodgates soon opened for the Reds as Daniel Da Silva doubled their lead in the 43rd minute. Right off, the restart Cyrus Rollocks added another and just before the half, Ethan Beckford scored a fourth for the Reds.
TFC III continued their dominance in the second half as they pressed a short-handed AFC. Beckford scored in the 74th to record his league-leading ninth goal of the season. Cyrus Rollocks added his second before Ricardo John finished off the match with his first for TFC III.
Gianluca Catalano earned his third clean sheet of the season as he and the backline held off the AFC attack. TFC III has now not conceded a goal in four consecutive league matches.
The win improves TFC III’s record to 5-2-1 in League 1 Ontario play. They return to action on Friday night as they head to Durham to face Durham United FA.
