Toronto FC II head down to Ohio this weekend to take on FC Cincinnati. A crowd of over 15,000 is expected at Nippert Stadium on Saturday.
The Young Reds head into the match following a midweek draw against the Richmond Kickers. Toronto FC II continues to look for their first victory since week one of the season. FC Cincinnati is fresh off a 2-1 victory over Bethlehem Steel FC, their first win in five matches. Cincinnati is currently in the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference.
Last season FC Cincinnati took both games over the Young Reds by a 2-1 score. First team winger Raheem Edwards scored both the goals for the Young Reds, including this Goal of the Year candidate in the second match in June.
“We have to go in there with confidence. We have to be solid defensively, “ said head coach Jason Bent when asked about the match in Cincinnati, “ We have to find our moments to keep the ball and take the crowd out of it.”
There are no new injuries to report so expect a full squad come Saturday. Captain Mitch Taintor could return to the lineup after making his debut with the first team in their Canadian Championship match against the Ottawa Fury last week.
