The 2017 MLS Regular Season schedule was released this afternoon and the season is just 50 short days away. In the meantime, here are six dates you should already be excited about.
March 4, 2017 – Season Opener – at Real Salt Lake
The Reds will kick off their season in Salt Lake City as they pay their biannual visit to Rio Tinto Stadium. The day will be filled with anticipation, as the Reds will open as defending Eastern Conference Champions.
March 31, 2017 – Home Opener – vs. Sporting Kansas City
The atmosphere should be incredible as the Reds return to BMO Field for the first time since the 2016 MLS Cup. The Reds and Sporting Kansas City have quite the history, you can read more about that here.
May 6, 2017 – MLS Cup Rematch – at Seattle Sounders
Need I say more? Intensity should be high as the Reds head into a thunderous CenturyLink Field with one thing on their minds, revenge.
July 30, 2017 – Eastern Conference Semi-Final rematch – vs. New York City FC
Toronto FC made quick work of Patrick Vieira’s side in last year’s East Semi-final. The Reds waltzed into Yankee Stadium and dominated the hosts in the second leg. A fresh-faced NYCFC, led by MLS MVP David Villa will certainly be looking to avenge last year’s playoff defeat.
September 20, 2017 – The 401 Derby returns to BMO – vs. Montreal
These two rivals played arguably the greatest two-legged playoff series in MLS Cup Playoff history last year. The Impact will make their first trip down the 401 since that unbelievable late November night. It's a match you won't want to miss.
October 22, 2017 – Decision Day in Atlanta – at Atlanta
The Reds will play at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the first time in franchise history on Decision Day 2017. The atmosphere is always intense when every team kicks off at once with everything on the line.
