Here's a brief recap of the week that was for Kia Toronto FC Academy athletes playing for their respective teams in the NCAA:
Darrin MacLeod – Drake University
MacLeod was named the Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week after posting his second shutout of the season in Drake’s 4-0 win against University of Missouri-Kansas City and followed that up with an impressive performance in Drake’s 3-2 win over DePaul University.
Drake is now 5-2-0 on the season, matching their 2014 win total. Their next match is set for September 26th against the University of Evansville.
Eli Roubos – Florida Gulf Coast University
Roubos went the full 90 in FGCU’s 2-1 loss to rivals University of South Florida on September 19th.
The team has gone 1-2-1 so far this season and plays their next match against 21st ranked Brown University on September 25th.
Kevon Black and Oliver Spring – Duke University
Both Kevon Black and Oliver Spring didn’t see action in the 2-1 loss against 14th ranked Clemson University, the Blue Devils’ first defeat this season.
Duke goes into their September 25th match against 3rd ranked rivals North Carolina with a record of 4-2-1.
