TORONTO - Head Coach Greg Vanney announced Wednesday that both midfielder Victor Vazquez and defender Drew Moor are "questionable" for Sunday's second leg clash with the New York Red Bulls. Neither player took part in today's training session.

“Both have progressed since Monday, feeling better,” head coach Greg Vanney revealed on Wednesday afternoon. "We have them as questionable for now, but in talking to them today, they’ve definitely made progress which is a good sign.”

The team's medical staff will continue to monitor the pair throughout the week.

“Our hope is that they continue to make progress and that prognosis gets better as we get closer to Sunday,” Vanney said.

The rest of the squad took part in a regen session as the preparations for the second leg of the Eastern Conference Semifinals continue. Returning home with a 2-1 win, goalkeeper Alex Bono is beaming with confidence following his first career playoff win.

“It’s big for us to go on the road and get a result like that,” he said. “We know if we play our brand of soccer, we can beat any team on any given day in any stadium.”

Defender Nick Hagglund once again proved a reliable cog in the machine, replacing the injured Moor to help secure the win. Himself sidelined through injury for large portions of the 2017 season, Monday night’s performance was particularly gratifying.

“We got a clean sheet in that second half which is always good,” he told reporters. “I was a bit nervous, a bit cold, but once I got the first header out of the way, I felt good after that. You have to make the plays when you’re called upon. When Drew went down, I knew it was my time to make a play for the team.”
