Toronto FC II signs Jordan Faria

Faria Signs

Toronto FC announced today that midfielder Jordan Faria has signed a professional contract with Toronto FC II, becoming the 38th player to sign professionally from the Toronto FC Academy. Faria originally joined the Academy at the age of 13 in January 2012 from Brampton Youth Soccer Club.

“Jordan joined our academy at a young age and is part of the 2000 group we have kept a close eye on over the years and work diligently with,” said Toronto FC Assistant General Manager, Team Operations and Strategy Corey Wray. “He is a great kid that is willing to listen and learn. We’re all very delighted that he made it to the first stage of being a young pro.”

Faria, 18, has made eight appearances for Toronto FC II in the USL this season, playing on an Academy agreement. The midfielder has logged 352 minutes and scored his first USL goal on May 19th against Charlotte.

“Jordan adds a lot to the team. He has a lot of pace and is a tricky winger,” said TFC III Head Coach Danny Dichio. “He has really good balls skills and puts in a good cross. He is no stranger to scoring goals and is very dynamic when he is on the ball.”

Faria spent the 2017 season with Toronto FC III in League 1 Ontario, playing in 20 games and scoring three times. Faria was also a member of the TFC III squad that competed in the 2018 Dallas Cup playing against the academy teams of Manchester United and Tigres UANL.

Faria has represented Canada at both the U-15 and U-17 levels and was a member of the Canadian squad for the 2017 CONCACAF U-17 Championships.
