Following the conclusion of the 2022 season, Toronto FC announced today their current roster status for the 2023 season.
Nineteen players are contractually guaranteed for the 2023 season: goalkeeper Greg Ranjitsingh; defenders Themi Antonoglou, Kadin Chung, Lukas MacNaughton, Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, Luke Singh, Shane O’Neill; midfielders Michael Bradley, Mark-Anthony Kaye, Jayden Nelson, Kosi Thompson and forwards Ayo Akinola, Federico Bernardeschi, Lorenzo Insigne, Jesús Jiménez, Deandre Kerr, Hugo Mbongue and Jordan Perruzza.
Defender Richie Laryea’s loan for the 2023 season with Toronto FC runs through June 2023.
Toronto FC has exercised the contract option on defender Themi Antonoglou.
TFC did not exercise the 2023 contract option for defender Chris Mavinga but remains in discussions with him for a potential new contract.
Midfielder Jonathan Osorio’s contract will expire at the end of the year; however, the club remains in discussions with him regarding a potential new contract for 2023 and beyond.
Goalkeepers Alex Bono and Quentin Westberg, defender Doneil Henry and midfielder Noble Okello will be out of contract at the end of the year and will not return to TFC for the 2023 campaign. Henry remains under contract with MLS after LAFC waived him on July 3, 2022, and he will be eligible to go through Waivers again.
Toronto FC declined the 2023 contract option of defender Auro Jr. and forward Ifunanyachi Achara, and they will not return to TFC for the 2023 season.
