Toronto FC’s complete 2019 Major League Soccer regular season schedule was released Monday by MLS as the league prepares for its 24th season.
The Reds will open the thirteenth season in club history on Saturday, March 2, at 1:00 p.m. on the road against the Philadelphia Union at Talen Energy Stadium. TFC will host the New England Revolution at BMO Field on Sunday, March 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the club’s 2019 Home Opener.
During the 2019 season, Toronto FC will play 19 matches on Saturdays, five on both Sundays and Wednesdays, four on Fridays and one on Thursday. At home, TFC will play seven matches on Saturdays, four on Sundays and three on both Wednesdays and Fridays.
Eight of the Reds’ 17 home matches will be played against clubs that made the 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs, including the defending MLS Cup Champions, Atlanta United FC, on Wednesday, June 26. The Reds will host Columbus Crew SC on Decision Day, scheduled for Sunday, October 6 at 4:00 p.m.
Toronto FC will face Canadian rivals, Montreal Impact on two occasions this season. TFC will travel to Montreal on Saturday, July 13, and then host the Impact on Saturday, August 24. The Reds will travel west to meet their other Canadian rival, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, on Friday, May 31.
The MLS Cup Playoff schedule and format have changed for the 2019 season. The playoffs will now feature a fixed-bracket, single elimination tournament with the highest seed hosting each match. Fourteen teams (the top seven teams in each conference) will advance to the MLS Cup Playoffs in 2019. The 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs will begin on Saturday, October 19, with the 2019 MLS Cup Finals scheduled for Sunday, November 10.
