Toronto FC goalkeeper Quillan Roberts, defender Ashtone Morgan and midfielder Jonathan Osorio were named to Canadian Head Coach Benito Floro’s 23-man roster for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup on Tuesday.
Canada has been placed in Group B along with Costa Rica, El Salvador and Jamaica. Canada will open the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Wednesday, July 8 against El Salvador at 10:30 p.m. ET at The StubHub Center in Los Angeles, California. Canada will then face Jamaica on Saturday, July 11 (6:30 p.m. ET) at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas and conclude the group stage on Tuesday, July 14 on home soil at BMO Field against Costa Rica at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Osorio, 23, has appeared in 12 matches for Toronto FC this season, registering two assists. He has earned 11 caps for the Canadian National Team; his most recent call-up came on June 16, 2015 in a 4-0 victory in the return leg against Dominica in the CONCACAF Preliminary Round of qualifying for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Morgan, 24, has appeared in 12 matches for Toronto FC this season registering one assist. He has earned 13 caps for the Canadian National Team; similar to Osorio his most recent call-up came on June 16, 2015 in a 4-0 victory in the return leg against Dominica in the CONCACAF Preliminary Round of qualifying for 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
Roberts, 20, has split time between Toronto FC and its USL affiliate Toronto FC II this season. Roberts has been part of the 18 for four MLS matches and two Amway Canadian Championship matches for Toronto FC. He has appeared and started in four matches, logging 360 minutes, with a record of 0-1-3 while registering two clean sheets for Toronto FC II. He was named to the USL Team of the Week for Week 12. Roberts has earned one cap for the Canadian National Team. He made his debut on March 30, 2015 as a substitute in a friendly match against Puerto Rico.
