Canada Soccer announced its national team roster today which included three members of Toronto FC. Midfielders Jonathan Osorio, Raheem Edwards and forward Tosaint Ricketts have all been called into coach Octavio Zambrano’s side for a friendly match against El Salvador. The match will take place on Sunday, October 8 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, TX, USA. A portion of the net proceeds will be donated to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.
Ricketts, 30, has earned 57 caps for Canada, scoring 15 goals. He has appeared in 24 matches registering seven goals and one assist (MLS and the Canadian Championship) for TFC this season. Ricketts was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 11 and was on the bench for Week 28.
Osorio, 25, has earned 18 caps for Canada, scoring two goals. He has appeared in 28 matches registering two goals and four assists (MLS and the Canadian Championship) for TFC this season.
Edwards, 22, has earned two caps for Canada. He has appeared in 23 matches registering one goal and eight assists (MLS and the Canadian Championship) for TFC this season. Edwards was named to the MLS Team of the Week for Week 9 and was on the bench for Week 5.
