Toronto FC announced Tuesday that the club and Damien Perquis have mutually agreed to terminate the defender’s contract.

“After speaking with Damien, we have agreed to allow him to pursue other opportunities,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “On behalf of Toronto FC we would like to thank Damien for his contributions to the club and wish him and his family all the best in the future.”

Perquis, 32, signed with Toronto FC on January 26, 2015. He made 38 appearances, registering two goals and two assists between MLS league matches and the Amway Canadian Championship.
