Toronto FC announced Wednesday that the club has acquired a conditional second round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft from the Houston Dynamo in exchange for midfielder Collen Warner.
“With our current depth in midfield, we felt we could make a move to acquire a future asset and we’ve accomplished that with this deal,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. “We’d like to thank Collen for his contributions to Toronto FC and wish him all the best.”
Warner, 27, made 51 combined appearances (MLS league play and the Amway Canadian Championship) for Toronto FC, scoring two goals and added four assists. He was originally acquired in a trade from the Montreal Impact on May 16, 2014.
