The Atomic Ant is five for six from the spot in MLS. The one he missed, last season versus New York City FC, clanged off the post. He made amends minutes later in that same 4-4 thriller at Yankee Stadium.

So what’s the secret behind Giovinco’s pk success? The reigning MVP will not divulge.

“To be honest I can’t reveal how I score my penalties because of course there are going to be goalies that are going to be watching this,” said Giovinco, smiling, following Tuesday’s practice at the Kia Training Ground.

“I don’t know why I keep choosing the left corner. I just get that feeling. I look at the goalie, I choose my corner and I pick the spot.

Sounds pretty simple, but execution is a whole different animal and Seba is proving even if you know where he’s going, it doesn’t really matter.
