Canada battled stiff competition in their opening Pan Am match as they took on four-time champions Brazil.
Brazil proved to be the dominant team in Hamilton on Sunday, defeating the Canadians 4-1.
TFC II midfielder/forward Mo Babouli had the lone goal for the Canadians. A perfectly weighted pass from Hanson Boakai sent Babouli in behind the Brazilian defenders and he made no mistake, slotting the ball past Brazil’s goalkeeper.
Toronto FC II was well represented in the Starting XI for Canada.
Canada Head Coach Antonio Floro named Mo Babouli, Adam Bouchard and Chris Mannella, who was also named Captain for the Canadians, to the Starting XI against Brazil.
Manny Aparicio and Raheem Edwards were subbed into the match in the second half by Floro.
Toronto FC Academy defender Kevon Black was also named to the Starting XI.
Canada is back in action on Thursday night against Panama (8:35PM ET/Sportsnet).
