One academy player and one homegrown graduate earned some impressive individual honours over the last month.
Hugo Mbongue, a member of the USSDA U-15 Championship winning squad, took home the USSDA U-15 Golden Boot honour last month. The 15-year-old Mbongue scored four goals during the team’s run to the championship including two in the dramatic come from behind decider.
Homegrown graduate Noble Okello also took home an individual honour as he was named the MVP of the 2019 MLS Homegrown game. The 19-year-old came on as a second half substitute for the MLS side as they took on the Chivas U-20 side.
Okello earned the honour by scoring the late equalizer for the homegrowns to send the game to PKS where the MLSers eventually held on to win the game.
