U.S. Soccer announced Tuesday that Toronto FC captain Michael Bradley has been named U.S. Soccer’s 2015 Male Player of the Year. This marks the first time Bradley has won the award.
This past season Bradley earned 18 caps for the U.S. National team and scored 3 goals with 6 assists.Ahead of the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup, Bradley was named captain of the U.S. by head coach Jürgen Klinsmann. In total, Bradley captained the U.S. in 16 of his 18 matches in 2015. Bradley has earned 109 caps with 15 goals for the U.S. throughout his career. His most recent caps came in a pair of FIFA 2018 World Cup qualification matches against St. Vincent and the Grenadines (November 14) and away to Trinidad & Tobago (November 18.)
Bradley helped lead Toronto FC to its first playoff appearance in club history this past season. He made 26 appearances (MLS league play and playoffs), scoring 5 goals and added 6 assists for the Reds.
