Toronto FC III opened the League1 Ontario season with a 1-1 draw against TFC partner club FC London.

The game was played under the bubble at the BMO Training Ground so the match was shielded from the windy conditions on Sunday.

Both teams took a bit to work their way into the match after a long offseason. The first half was scoreless.

TFC III carried the play early in the second half and Toronto FC II’s Shaan Hundal buried a chance that was created by Luca Petrasso to give the Reds a 1-0 lead.

However, the visitors equalized with just seven minutes left in the game as Patrick Melo fired one past Gianluca Catalano.

Toronto FC III returns to action next Sunday as they travel to the East End to take on the Sanjaxx Lions. Kickoff is set for 2:00 PM at Monarch Park Stadium.
