The week that was for Kia Toronto FC Academy athletes in the NCAA:


Darrin MacLeod – Drake University

MacLeod and the Drake Bulldogs fell to the nation’s top ranked team, the Creighton Bluejays, 2-1 on Tuesday night.


Creighton (11-0) scored two late goals to down the Bulldogs (7-3). MacLeod had eight saves in the contest.


The Bulldogs are back on the pitch Saturday in a Missouri Valley Conference matchup against Central Arkansas.


Eli Roubos – Florida Gulf Coast University

The 14th ranked FGCU Eagles (4-2-1) picked up its third straight victory on Saturday, defeating Stetson University 2-0 on the road.


Roubos went the full 90 in the Eagles’ victory. The team will look to extend their winning streak to four games as they take on the University of North Florida on Saturday.


Ryan James – Bowling Green University

Ryan James and the Bowling Green Falcons suffered their third straight loss on Saturday, a 1-0 defeat against visiting Northern Illinois University. With the loss the Falcons’ record dropped to 6-4-0 on the season.


BGU kick off a four-game road swing against Ohio State on Wednesday night followed by a matchup against Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis on Saturday.


Kevon Black and Oliver Spring – Duke University

Duke rallied from two goals down in their 3-2 victory over 23rd ranked Hofstra on Monday.


With the win Duke snapped a six-game winless streak and improved their overall record to 5-4-2.


The Blue Devils are on the road for their next match against Notre Dame on Saturday, October 10th.
