As Toronto FC’s squad enters its final week in Antalya, Turkey, one of the main positives to come out of camp so far has been the way the players are responding to the new management team. Couple that with two good results in the first two matches, and although there is still much work to be done, there is reason to be optimistic moving forward.

<p style="font-size: 10px; margin: 0pt auto;">VIDEO: Dan Gargan from Day 10 of training camp in Turkey.</p> |
Dan Gargan is the latest player to talk positively about the changes at training camp this year saying there is a “different vibe.” Talking about the new coaching staff on Toronto FC TV on Monday, Gargan said; “They are very business oriented but at the same time they encourage us a lot. Everything we do is with the ball. It is all about movement with the ball and movement off the ball. I think it is translating pretty well.”
“It has been good so far. We have had a couple of good results and We are picking up a whole new system with a lot of different responsibilities.”
As well as learning about the way Aron Winter wants his team to play, Gargan is also getting his fitness back after struggling with injury towards the end of last season. “I am starting to feel more like myself,” he said. “The back end of the season was pretty tough for me because of the knee tendonitis that I had. After seven or eight days training I am now starting to feel closer to 100 percent and am getting my touch back.”
Other notes from Antalya:
Defender Adrian Cann left training camp on Monday morning to link up with the Canadian National Team ahead of Wednesday’s match against Greece in Larissa. Dwayne De Rosario is also with the Canada squad and left a day earlier. The duo will return to Turkey after the game and are scheduled to be back in Antalya by Thursday evening.
The kick off time for Thursday’s match against Dinamo Zagreb of Croatia has now been confirmed. The match will take place at 5:00 p.m. local time, 10:00 a.m. ET.
