TORONTO – The third day of the BMO Champions Cup wrapped up on Saturday evening with the first trophies of the tournament being handed out in the U14 and U15 divisions.
U14 Division
The day kicked off with a 3rd place match between Ginga FC (CAF) and the Eurostar Academy Lions (SAAC). Eurostar Academy opened the scoring in the final moments of the first half.
Both teams defended well in the second half and the score remained at 1-0 for Eurostar when the final whistle blew.
The final of the U14 division featured Toronto FC Academy (2003) and the OPDL’s Oakville Soccer Club.
Nothing came from a tense first half. The Reds got the opening goal from Denilson Clamp. The defender flicked the ball home off a corner kick.
TFC doubled their advantage just two minutes later as substitute Kobe Franklin fired one home from just inside the 18. Christian Calabro earned the clean sheet as the Reds took home the inaugural BMO Champions Cup.

U15 Division
The U15 division 3rd place match featured BRI FC from CAF and London FA from SAAC. London had their feet on the gas pedal early and dictated much of the play. They scored six times in the opening frame.
London added four more in the second half and cruised to the 3rd place finish.
The final match of the day featured Toronto FC’s 2002 up against the OPDL’s Richmond Hill SC.
TFC scored twice in the opening frame. Julian Altobelli opened the scoring with a cheeky finish. The forward calmly flicked the ball over his head and into the open Richmond Hill goal. Theo Corbeanu slotted home the second.
Jacen Russell-Rowe, Matthew Wrobel, and Ola Ogunnote added second-half tallies and Michael Kulas kept the clean sheet as the Reds took home the title with the 5-0 victory.
