U-17s capture Youth International Cup!

The Toronto FC Academy U-17 (2000) team captured the inaugural International Youth Soccer Cup on Sunday with a win over Italian giants Juventus FC.  Full recap here.

U-16s in Mexico

The Toronto FC Academy U-16 (2001) team kicked off their Liga MX International tournament last week with an opening match against the LA Galaxy. LA took the first match by a final score of 2-0.


The Reds then played to a tough 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mexican side FC Toluca. The team’s third match of the tournament ended 2-0 for Mexican side Atlas FC.


After three games in three days, the team utilized their off day as an opportunity to catch some of the sites around Toluca. The team did a hike around the famous Pyramid of the Sun.

The boys bounced back on Monday with a solid team effort against Atlanta United. After Atlanta had jumped out in front early in the second half, Jacen Russell-Rowe equalized for the Reds. The match ended 1-1.

TFC continue their tournament this week with matches against Santos Laguna (Tuesday 1:15 PM), FC Dallas (Wednesday 11:00 AM), and Pacucha (Friday 11:00 AM)


OPDL Update

The Toronto FC Academy U-15 (2002) team that competes in the OPDL U-16 division was 4-0 winners over Whitby this weekend. Malik Henry, Mathew Wrobel, Julian Accettola and Joshua Solomon had the goals.


The Toronto FC Academy U-14 (2003) team that competes in the OPDL U-15 division played to a pair of 1-1 draws in Ottawa. They tied West Ottawa on a goal from NaKye Greenidge-Duncan and then drew Ottawa South United with a goal from Kobe Franklin.


Canada U-15s advance from group stage

The Canada Soccer U-15 team advanced to the semifinals the 2017 CONCACAF Boys’ Under-15 Championship. The team consisted of five TFC Academy players: Julian Accettola, Cameron DaSilva, Malik Henry, Jayden Nelson and Ralph Priso-Mbongue.


The team opened the tournament with a 2-0 defeat at the hand of the United States.


The Voyageurs rebounded with a 3-0 win over Costa Rica. TFCA’s Malik Henry had a goal in the match.


Canada went into the final match with a chance to advance to the semi-finals with a victory. Canada dispatched Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 to advance. Cameron DaSilva had a goal in the victory.


Canada bowed out of the tournament after a 3-0 defeat to eventual champions Mexico in the semifinals.
