A day after advancing to the semifinals of the Generation adidas Cup by winning their last group matches, Toronto FC Academy Under-15 and 17 teams continued to roll through Seattle all the way to the tournament final.
On Tuesday night, the U15 team earned a clean sheet 1-0 victory over LA Galaxy. Luca Uccello scored the lone goal in the game. The victory propels the U15s to the final against another Carson, California side, Chivas USA on Thursday.
The U17s were held to a regulation time 1-1 draw in their semifinal match against Columbus Crew. By tournament rules penalties were next, where Toronto won 5-4 with Jordan Hamilton, Eli Roubos, Manuel Aparicio, Dylan Sacramento and Mark Wadid all converting their spot kicks. Goalkeeper Mark Rogal's save on the fourth Columbus shot made the difference in the U17s path to the final, also to be contested on Thursday.
The U15s will play Chivas at 10 a.m. followed by the U17 team facing Philadelphia at Noon. All times Pacific.
