The competitionĀ featuredĀ 64 of the best MLS NEXT clubs from theĀ U-15,Ā U-16,Ā U-17, andĀ U-19Ā age groups, with 16 teams in each age division able to secure a place in theĀ 2021-2022Ā MLS NEXT Cup PlayoffsĀ with a first place finish in their respective group.
