Here is your TFC Academy update for the week of June 5-11:
TFC III draws with Windsor TFC
Toronto FC III and Windsor TFC played to a 0-0 draw in the first ever League 1 Ontario “TFC Derby.”
Both teams battled the elements, as the conditions in Windsor were hot and muggy on Saturday afternoon. Gianluca Catalano earned his second clean sheet of the season in the match.
The draw moves TFC III to 4-2-1 on the season, good for third place in the Men’s Western division.
Next up for TFC III is a second round L1Cup match against North Mississauga on Wednesday.
OPDL Ottawa weekend
The Toronto FC Academy U-12 and U-13 teams headed off to Ottawa for an overnight trip to take on Ottawa South United.
The U-13 (2004) team that plays in the OPDL U-14 league was defeated at the hands of the host Ottawa South United. Lowell Wright was the lone goal scorer for the Reds.
Elsewhere the TFC Academy U-14 (2003) team that competes in the OPDL U-15 division remained undefeated with a 4-1 victory over the Whitby Iroquois. Kosi Thompson bagged a brace, while Evan Amaral and Nakye Greenidge-Duncan were the other goalscorers.
The Toronto FC Academy U-15 (2002) team that competes in the OPDL U-16 division fell 2-0 to West Ottawa on Sunday.
OSL Update
The Toronto FC Academy U-16 (2001) that competes in the Ontario Soccer League U-21 Provincial Division defeated Sanjaxx 6-0 to improve to 4-0-0 on the season.
Ralph Priso, Daniel Raimondo, Tom Akinola, Daniel Assaf, Themi Antonoglou, and Theodor Corbeanu were the goal scorers.
