This is your Toronto FC Academy Update for the week of June 12-18:
Double week in the OSL
The Toronto FC Academy OSL teams both played a pair of games this week.
The Toronto FC Academy U-17 Team (2000) that competes in the OSL U-21 Elite division started their double week with a 3-0 victory over Durham United FA. Zakaria Abdi scored a brace and Noble Okello added the third for the Reds.
Just two days later the U-17 team played to a 0-0 draw with the Vaughan Azzurri. The U-17’s record is now 3-0-1 in league play.
The Toronto FC Academy U-16 Team (2001) that competes in the OSL U-21 Provincial Division defeated the Woodbridge Strikers 2-0 in their midweek matchup. Theodor Corbeanu and Osaze De Rosario were the goal scorers.
The U-16 team then went on to defeat the Markham Lighting 5-0 on Saturday. Corbeanu and Antonio Carlini each bagged a brace, and Themi Antonoglou added another to pace the Reds. The U-16 team is now 6-0-0 on the season.
OPDL
The Toronto FC U-15 Team (2002) that competes in the OPDL U-16 division defeated Unionville Milliken 3-1 on Sunday afternoon. Sebastian Nuzzo, Julian Altobelli, and Jacen Russell-Rowe were the goal scorers for the Reds. The U-15s are now 4-2-0 this season.
The Toronto FC U-14 Team (2003) that competes in the OPDL U-15 division traveled to Ottawa to take on West Ottawa on Sunday. The Reds were victorious 3-0 over the hosts. Lowell Wright, Nayke Greenidge-Duncan, and Kobe Franklin had the goals for the Reds. The U-14s are now 6-0-0 on the season.
The Toronto FC Academy U-13 Team (2004) that competes in the OPDL U-14 division fell at the hands of Burlington Youth 4-3 on Saturday. Fraser Geddes, Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty, and Miran Duncan had the goals for the Reds. The U-13 team is currently 2-4-0 on the young season.
Toronto FC III win big over Aurora FC
Toronto FC III defeated Aurora FC 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. Full recap here.
